PROFILE
GREETING FROM MANAGING PARTNER TSUTOMU KATO
Our firm’s name, “Hanabusa” means the calyx of a flower, the part of a flower that supports the petals from below. Like a calyx, we strive to acquire and protect the rights of our clients’ intellectual properties, and, in doing so, we help to make our clients more attractive to potential customers. We also strive to uphold the interests of our clients by acting on their behalf on the front lines in any disputes over intellectual property rights.
HANABUSA PATENT & TRADEMARK OFFICE
AIMS TO BE YOUR BEST PARTNER.
Today, Japan’s industries are entering an era of major structural change in every field.
Even large companies need to adapt to remain profitable. Without changing their traditional business models, they risk being left behind.
Small and medium-sized enterprises also need to adapt as they strive to succeed by exploring previously untouched business opportunities. Similarly, when venture companies seek to establish new industrial models in new business fields, they need to survive wave after wave of competitors.
We, the Hanabusa Patent & Trademark Office, are an organization whose slogan is “For Others.”
Regardless of the size and popularity of their companies, we assist our clients in any intellectual property-related tasks with which their handling might be insufficient, work with them to obtain intellectual property rights, and prevent any acts that infringe on their rights.
We diligently assist our clients in litigation, harnessing our experience working with a variety of law firms.
Furthermore, we have relationships with foreign patent firms in more than 100 countries and can provide appropriate advice to our clients on issues and concerns regarding their intellectual properties overseas.
We will continue to be guided by the spirit of working “For Others.”
